The plastic tubes for serum have coagulation activator applied by spray on the wall and are used for serum determinations in clinical chemistry and serology.
They are recommended for immuno-hematology: ABO grouping, RH type, antibodies, red blood cell phenotypes and DAT tests.
These tubes are labeled with the acronym CAT (Clot Activator Tube or Tube with Activator of the Coagulation)
